The Port Shepstone Senior Primary (PSSP) annual Inter-School athletics competition, co-hosted by Port Shepstone Senior Primary and Margate Primary schools, proved that not even the heaviest downpour could dampen the spirit of the community.
The damp tracks did nothing to slow down athletes, in fact, multiple long-standing records were shattered across both track and field events. The true highlight of the day was the wonderful sportsmanship, along with the camaraderie among principals, teachers, and school staff was on full display as they worked hand-in-hand to manage the schedule adjustments caused by the weather.
PSSP learners who were rewarded for their outstanding performances were Inathi Shange (Senior Victrix Ludorum) and Samkelo Gumede (Senior Victor Ludorum).
Suid Natal was the overall winner amongst the seven participating schools.
Special mention is made of Amos Hardware for the loan of their vehicle with a projection screen of the event, much to the delight of parents and learners. PSSP acknowledges Halfway Toyota, Luckys Sports Port Shepstone, participating schools and all other stakeholders in ensuring a safe and successful event.
