St Martin’s De Porres Comprehensive School recently benefited from donations recently handed over by the deputy minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Zuko Godlimpi and the speaker of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Nontembeko Boyce.

Backpacks, sanitary packs, school shoes, laptops and fruit trees were donated to three schools in Port Shepstone, such as St Martins, Magaye Primary School, and Duduzile Junior Secondary School.

According to Boyce, the school visits emanated from a commitment made by the legislature during a career expo hosted last year in Izingolweni.

While deputy minister Godlimpi was on an official visit to India, he requested the speaker Boyce to lead the programme on his behalf.

The programme was also joined by the Mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Zodwa Mzindle, traditional leaders, local government representatives and other stakeholders; who highlighted the importance of collaboration, inclusion and collective support for learners.
