The wait is finally over for music lovers as the big music weekend arrives.
The Ugu Maskandi Festival is finally here and will be held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on Saturday, September 26.
The organiser, Siyabonga Mkhungo, said the annual event has become an important celebration of Maskandi music.
Mkhungo said the music festival will bring together music lovers, artists and communities for a day centred around a genre deeply connected to the storytelling traditions and cultural identity of KwaZulu-Natal.
Revellers can anticipate a buffet of musical treats as artists billed to perform include Ntencane, Jumbo, Saliwa, Ndoni, Nkeshemba, Limit Nala, Sjava, Mjolisi, Mzukulu, Phuzekhemisi, Shenge and many more.
The festival is set to open its gates from 12pm, while live performances start from 2pm.
